| The City and Haven of Umbar was the first Numenorean colony established in Middle-earth. The Bay of Umbar was found by Aldarion and the Guild of Venturers. The protected haven at the east end became a favored anchorage as the Guild explored inland from the coast The City and Haven of Umbar became the greatest Numeorean settlement in Middle-earth. All who are amazed by the grandure of Minas Anor, the corrupted majesty of Minas Ithil, the ruins of Osgiliath, and the stark power of Orthanc find they pale in comparison to that wrought by the Numenoreans in Umbar before the sinking of Andune. This area is dedicated to those that are now gone, but who's story remains (as told by J.R.R Tolkien in The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings). |
